Here we have a not-so typical project, but it's just the kind of "rescue from trash" we're known for. In addition to the obvious need for regluing, all the lower parts of the rocker were made new because the originals were rotted or missing. The seat was repairable. The customer wanted to keep what was left of the original hand painted design on the back. We advised our customer at the quotation that the finished color choices would be limited because of the strong red dye that had been used originally on this piece. We advised her of the choices she had that would work with the dye and get to a rich color. The middle picture shows the rocker after repairs and stripping.

Here is a different rocker shown on the left after repairing and installation of needed new parts. The middle picture shows it next after stripping, and on the right completed and with new handwoven cane seat installed.
